My son is 4 months old now and we’ve been using this swing (bought 2nd hand) pretty much every day since he was about 6 weeks old. On days when he just will not settle to sleep elsewhere(or wakes every half hour), he’ll sleep soundly in this swing. After I’ve tried everything else I can think of, I’ll put him in the swing, sit down and let him look at me as the swinging motion soothes him down in minutes. This is especially great for babies who, as they get older and more alert/distractible, will not settle while being held. The batteries last about a week or so, even run for hours every day, at the highest setting. My only complaint is, as someone else stated, the tray is a bit loud as you snap it closed, but this doesn’t seem to disturb the baby all that much. – Therese ( NJ )

Here’s What one of the Parent Owner of Fisher-Price Rainforest Open-Top Cradle Swing
My husband and I thought we didn’t need a swing…optimistic first time parents. After I spent about my third night up until 5:30 a.m.with my six week old son, I told my husband we would have a swing that night. I researched and discovered the Aquarium swing was rated highest, but it wasn’t available, so I chose the closest one: the Rainforest swing. That night, he slept all night, and the next, and the next. In fact, there have only been a couple of nights in the four weeks that he hasn’t slept all night. It is a LIFESAVER for us.
I particularly like how the mobile swings up for removing baby from the seat, and that we can plug it up rather than use batteries. It’s also easy to move, since it folds up. It was a little more expensive than some of the other swings, but bottom line: we will be saving this one for any other kids we have. Amanda Kirk (TX United States )

This swing is great! It turns three ways, doesn’t take up that much space, and goes all night long when plugged in. We use it more than anything for our newborn to sleep in. He sleeps so well in it! He also sits and watches the mobile and stars for hours. When he is fussy I turn on the mobile, lights and music, and he calms right down and watches the show, eventually falling asleep. We received it as a baby shower gift, never got a gift receipt, and had the swing motor go out after only 3 months of using it. I called Fisher Price and they where so nice! They sent out a whole new motor casing right away, free of charge, and now it is still going strong 5 months later! The swing has many different speed settings, so it’s perfect for play and sleep. Lots of different songs and nature sounds too. My only complaints: It could be more padded so it’s more comfortable for baby to sleep in. (We added an extra back and neck pad for ours) and also the motor casing is pretty hard and hands on to replace. Took me a good hour if not more. Other than that, this is such a great swing! My little boy didn’t really take to this swing until he was at least a month old (he preferred his bouncer), but once he did take to it the swing became a valuable asset in our house. The swing is soft and cozy. It’s also pretty durn cute. The pillow has bunny ears so when my son’s head is on it he looks like a little bunny! I love the 5 point harness; it makes me feel like he’s nice and secure. I really like that I can turn the swing cradle (which is super easy to do). My son prefers to be able to see us and this allows us to just turn the cradle and not have to move the entire swing (which is pretty sizable and heavy, but also STURDY) when we do things in different parts of the living room. The spinning birdy and mirror “mobile” doesn’t seem to do much for my son, but I’m sure lots of babies out there would find it interesting (or at least more interesting than nothing or the ceiling). The music and nature sounds are very soothing and very easy for a parent to stand. I don’t mind them at all. It’s nice to be able to adjust the volume on said sounds and music as well. The AC adapter is fabulous (and one of the main reasons we bought this swing). (A Johnson, Florida, USA )
